The game is fun for a little while until you realize its just limited and says no more then it says yes.

Albion is just repetitive work with little reward. Albion is a limited, overly structured, bare bones, skeleton version of Ultima Online. Albion is similar to Ultima in how you train but somehow feels 10 times as grindy. Why cant an ax user use every ax? Why cant a magic user cast every type of spell? Albion pigeon holes you and limits you to only a few skills and that gets old real quick. In Ultima you could use lots of different magic, spells and weapons that were trained in groups rather then the extremely limited and restricted system that Albion has. You could fight people from your houses and I literally spent 100's of hours doing this.Albion has none of this, instanced islands are not the same in any way. You might lose some stuff but it wasn't the end of the world. This was not easy but it could be done, of course you could kill that person and get the key back or change the locks to keep them out next time. You could also be a theif and and outside someone's house, steal their key and then rob them. You could sell stuff from your house, craft items to use and lose. There was everything from houses to castles and I don't even need to explain how much endless fun they were. In Ultima you could put your house anywhere on the map. There was also a system of fame that let you be a lord or great lord ect.Albion has none of this. You could on the other hand be great ect. You could also be a murderer and have a red name and titles like bad or evil. There was also a grey limited flag status to let players attack you safely without hurting their reps and also let other players know you were not to be trusted. If you did good deeds and bad deeds you might be neutral and players know not to trust you. If you steal, attack other players you might be bad or naughty. In Ultima players had titles to their names based on the things you do. Although all someone needed to do was say the magic word in town 'guards' and you would instantly die to a guard, sometimes thieves could escape ill explain that later.Albion limits this activity to only certain zones. Players could kill and loot other players anywhere, including in town. Looting only silver from the limited amount of creatures in Albion just isn't that fun. If you wanted you could sometimes even buy the item back of the player who took it from you for a ransom if that player didn't need it. You lost a great item one day but could find a new item to trade the next day.

I could leave my house or bank and chose to bring my rarest sword that I could lose, but with that sword I could kill monsters so much faster that it brought me more loot. Not only were the monsters hard they were fun to fight because other players could attack you deep down in dungeons so it was scary. There drops consisted of weapons and armor with magical properties that were very fun to find and were extremely useful. You could kill lots of varieties of monsters and get random loot drops depending how hard the monsters were. Let me keep this as simple as possible for people who don't know to understand why Albion in not a sandbox and isn't anything nearly as fun and open world as Ultima Online was: The'carebear' was actually invented because EA removed the hardcore pvp in the lamest way possible forever hurting the game. For those who are too young to understand, Runescape was a stolen limited version of Ultima before the developer Richard Garriot sold out to EA games that ruined the game to appease the 'carebear' crows that ruined the game.

No game developer understands why Ultima Online was the greatest full loot, unrestricted pvp, sandbox game of all time, Ironically while being pretty much the first online game and still ONLY game of its type ever since.
